Depending on professional background, experience and family situation, a competitive compensation and benefits package will be offered. The successful applicant may be offered a fixed-term appointment of one year duration or until 31 December 2019. Such appointment and any subsequent extension(s) are subject to the terms of the STL's mandate and/or the availability of funds. The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is an international inter-governmental organization with its own independent legal identity and not a UN organization. However, STL follows the UN common system for benefits and entitlements to its staff members. UN staff members may also serve on loan from their parent department/office, if selected.

Any appointment for this position will be on a local basis.

The recruitment process may include a pre-screening exercise, written tests and competency-based interviews.

A roster of suitable candidates may be established for this post as a result of this selection process for both fixed-term/established and general temporary assistance posts.

Under the overall supervision of the Court Records Officer, directly reporting to Senior Court Records Assistant (Senior CRA), the incumbent manages and organizes court records as part of the Judicial Support Unit in the Tribunal's Court Management Services Section. The incumbent:
" Receives, files, and disseminates official court records both electronically and in hardcopy (when required);
" Ensures the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the court records in accordance with the established Rules, Practices and Procedures;
" Requests translations of court documents in accordance with established SOPs and relevant instructions;
" Assists with and undertakes audit of judicial records;
" Maintains relevant statistics on the processed court records;
" Processes judicial correspondence in accordance with the defined procedures;
" Creates and maintains record logs and other information regarding records as necessary;
" Maintains the organization of the case and correspondence file in the Court Management database and in the electronic legal workflow system ("Legal Workflow"), and manages and organizes the hard copy case and correspondence file in accordance with the relevant instructions;
" When required, publishes documents to the Tribunal's website;
" Responds, when required, to external (Chambers, parties and/or other Registry sections) queries for information in relation to the processing of court records and judicial correspondence;
" Keeps abreast of new or amended relevant Rules Practice Directions and SOPs;
" Performs other duties as required.

Education: Secondary education diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar position of which at least two gained in an international Tribunal/Court.

Languages: Arabic, English and French are the official languages of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. For this post proficiency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of French and/or Arabic is an asset.
