Depending on professional background, experience and family situation, a competitive compensation and benefits package will be offered. The successful applicant will be offered a temporary appointment for duration of six months, limited to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL). Any subsequent extension(s) are subject to terms of the Tribunal's mandate and/or the availability of the funds. The STL is an international inter-governmental organization with its own independent legal identity and not a United Nation (UN) organization. However, STL follows the UN common system for salaries, benefits and entitlements to its staff members. UN staff members may also serve on loan from their parent department/office, if selected. The recruitment process may include a pre-selection procedure, written tests and interviews to assess levels of competency.

A roster of suitable candidates may be established for this particular profile as a result of this selection process for both fixed-term established and general temporary assistance posts.

Responsibilities
Under the overall management of the Chief of Security, Beirut Office and the local supervision and coordination of the Deputy Chief of Security, through the Transport Dispatcher, the Security Driver will perform the following duties:
- Driving sedans, 4x4 SUVs, minibuses and heavy-duty vehicles on a variety of driving assignments both of security and general administrative nature;
- Submit trip tickets and other transport related documents as specified by the Transport Dispatcher;
- Check vehicle trip tickets to ensure that they are completed according to transport requirements;
- Conduct a physical inspection of the vehicle to ensure everything is in order and there are no unreported damages;
- Check vehicle for damage/discrepancies and make timely reports of such damage and discrepancies;
- Ensure that all vehicles are kept in a state of readiness (clean, with enough fuel at all times and in roadworthy condition);
- Perform other tasks that may be set by the Deputy Chief of Security, Beirut Office.

Qualifications
• Education: High school or an equivalent diploma is required. Candidates must be in possession of a valid national driving license for the class of vehicles expected to drive; possess a clean driving record and a valid first aid certificate. Vehicle Mechanic Certificate and Heavy Duty Driving License will be considered an asset.

• Work Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience. Transport Section experience in the United Nations or any other international organization is preferable. Previous training or experience in security convoy operations and driving of armoured vehicles is desirable. Must be certified as medically fit and expected to undertake and pass annual medical and fitness test.

• Languages: Arabic, English and French are the official languages of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. For this post fluency in oral and written English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of French will be considered an asset..
